What’s In A Name?
This series brings together a group of paintings that spell the names of my closest family members using a custom lettering system I developed. Family has always been central to my life, and the separation enforced during the pandemic was deeply felt. Painting the names of those closest to me, and surrounding them with colour, became a way of softening that distance, turning into something tangible, something made present rather than absent.
The larger work in the series incorporates the names of my entire immediate family, layered into a single composition.
