Open
Open refers to the idea of reopening that dominated pandemic language — when can we reopen, return, resume? These works respond to that collective fixation, using the Apple keyboard shortcut for ‘open’ ⌘ + O as both a visual reference and a metaphor for access, permission and the desire to move forward.

Vortices
These were painted during one of Melbourne’s long lockdowns in 2020, when time and routine began to feel circular, repetitive, and slightly disorienting. The sense of being caught in a continuous loop, unable to move forward, only inward, became palpable. When the city reopened again, QR codes had become part of the new visual and social landscape, quiet symbols of a changed world.
